Marinieves Alba is a strategy and organizational transformation consultant with extensive experience strengthening leaders, organizations, networks, and communities across the social impact, arts and culture, education, youth development, and philanthropic sectors. A strategist, community weaver, and capacity builder, she works at the intersection of institutional strategy, leadership development, organizational change, culture, conflict and repair, and cross-sector collaboration.

Throughout her career, Marinieves has helped mission-driven organizations navigate complexity, strengthen leadership, build organizational capacity, and translate values into sustainable structures and practices. Her work includes executive and leadership coaching, organizational development, strategic planning, facilitation, learning and professional development, network and cohort design, conflict transformation, restorative practice, and program and initiative design. She is particularly skilled at identifying patterns across complex systems, connecting people and ideas, and creating the conditions for organizations and leaders to move from reflection to strategy and action.

Marinieves brings deep experience working within and across complex institutions and networks. She has designed and led national and international leadership and capacity-building initiatives; advised executives and senior teams; facilitated organizational change and strategic planning processes; developed fellowships, learning communities, and leadership cohorts; and supported organizations navigating growth, transition, conflict, and transformation. Her career spans senior leadership in community schools and arts and cultural organizations, international cultural exchange, philanthropy, and consulting with nonprofit and social justice organizations. Her approach is holistic, culturally responsive, relational, and systems-oriented. Marinieves helps leaders understand not only what needs to change, but also the relationships, structures, culture, and leadership capacities required to make change possible and sustainable. 

Marinieves holds degrees from Wesleyan University and New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, as well as graduate certificates from Fordham University and the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP). She is an alumna of Third World Newsreel, WBAI/Pacifica, the Interaction Institute for Social Change, and the Rockwood Leadership Institute, and has completed extensive training in leadership, restorative justice, facilitation, trauma and healing, media production, somatics, Reiki, MSBR, and mindfulness.

A lifelong educator, cultural worker, and scholar-practitioner, Marinieves has contributed to the literature of social justice, community development, and cultural practice. She co-edited and contributed to the groundbreaking anthology Women Warriors of the Afro-Latina Diaspora (Arte Público Press/University of Houston, 2012) and co-authored a chapter examining Children’s Aid Society community school outcomes in Developing Community Schools, Community Learning Centers, Extended-service Schools and Multi-service Schools: International Exemplars for Practice, Policy and Research (Springer International Publishing, 2016). Her poem “Every Breath Counts” appears in We Got Issues: A Young Woman’s Guide to a Bold, Courageous, and Empowered Life (Inner Ocean Publishing, 2006).

Marinieves continues to explore the intersections of leadership, culture, belonging, healing, community power, and institutional transformation through her consulting, coaching, teaching, and writing.
